There is no online form. Download the application, fill it in by hand or on your computer, sign it, and email it to us with your supporting documents.

Who can apply

Eligibility

Organizations. 501(c)(3) nonprofits that distribute food, provide access to healthy living, or are Hindu temples. Please attach your IRS determination letter.

Students. Low-income high school students in the greater Chicago area, or in India, who are pursuing higher education. Please attach proof of enrollment or admission and a government-issued ID.

Graduating seniors at Adlai E. Stevenson High School apply for the Savithri Foundation Scholarship through the Stevenson High School Foundation, not through this form.

How it works

Four steps

  1. Download the applicationIt is a two-page PDF. Fill in every field; incomplete forms are returned.
  2. Describe the purposeBe specific about what the money will do, for whom, and when. Attach anything that supports the request: budgets, letters, enrollment proof, ID.
  3. Sign and sendPrint to sign (digital signatures are not accepted), scan, and email everything to info@savithri.org.
  4. Hear back within 5 to 7 business daysThe board reviews every application. We may ask follow-up questions before deciding.

A clear need, a specific use of funds, and an applicant we can verify. Typical grants are modest; the foundation has awarded amounts from a few hundred dollars to $5,000 for scholarships.

Grants are modest. Past awards have ranged from a few hundred dollars for food donations to $5,000 a year for scholarships (two awards of $2,500 each at Adlai E. Stevenson High School).
